SHOWING AREA PROFILE 1 OF 1

Halfway Gardens at a glance

Halfway House was originally named because of its position halfway between Johannesburg and Pretoria, where it served as a halfway watering post for horses travelling between the two cities. Today Midrand, Pretoria and Johannesburg are literally one large metropolitan area with huge developments in the industrial and business sectors as well as residential area. This area has now become one of the busiest business and industrial sectors in the country.

Halfway House was originally set on a piece of farm land, but with modern Johannesburg having spread, most of the homes here are contemporary and large. Recent years have seen the development of lifestyle estates and townhouses. There still lingers the memory of semi-rural highveld in Halfway House that offers tranquillity and an easing of the fast pace that is Johannesburg. There is quick access to Midrand, Johannesburg and Pretoria with the choice of Olifantsfontein, New Road or Allandale offramp onto the N1 highway.

There is no shortage of things to do in Halfway House Midrand. Once a rural community, it is now in the midst of the Waterfall City's buzz.
