Meet Roger Snelgar, a man whose curriculum vitae reads like a masterclass in leadership, and whose second act has brought that same rigour to real estate in Waterfall.

Born in South Africa and raised across the wide plains of Zambia and Zimbabwe, Roger's formative years were defined by captaincy on the rugby field, in the pool, on the athletics track, and as Head Boy of his school. That early instinct for leadership carried him to the University of Cape Town, where he read for a Bachelor's degree in Social Science before adding a Diploma in Accountancy to his credentials.

After a brief apprenticeship in auditing, Roger devoted four decades to commercial banking, rising through the ranks to serve as Chief Executive Officer and sit on the boards of numerous banks across Africa, as both Executive and Non-Executive Director. He retired from Standard Bank in March 2015, having since completed a Professional Business Coaching Programme through GIBS, the University of Pretoria's Business School.

Rather than slow down, Roger turned his considerable expertise toward mentorship, joining a consulting firm to pursue ecosystem business development, coach senior executives across African banking institutions, tutor third-year B.Comm Banking students, and design and deliver a leadership and strategy development programme for a bank in East Africa.

A long-standing resident of Waterfall Estate, and now Waterfall Valley, Roger joined the Platinum Residential sales force in 2022, bringing his formidable acumen to bear on the Mature Lifestyle Estate market, where his gravitas, wisdom, and genuine warmth make him a trusted guide for buyers navigating this next chapter of their lives.

When he isn't unlocking a client's ideal home, Roger can be found pursuing vigour of a different kind, training in the gym, cycling, carving alpine slopes, surfing, swimming, or simply losing himself in a good book. He is, by any measure, a man of considerable erudition and an even greater love of life.
